I’m an uncertified connoisseur of motorcycles, and I say UM Motorcycle is the future. For me the specification of a motorcycle comes later, it is the appearance of a motorcycle I communicate with first.
When I saw the matte green UM Renegade Commando, I said: well, this machine is born to claim the throne in the Indian market of motorcycle.
The cruiser motorcycle market in India has been witnessing the cat fight between Bajaj Avenger and Royal Enfield motorcycles for quite a long time. Both claim to be the rightful claimant of the throne. Between the two, I have already supported Bajaj Avenger, as they introduced something new to the Indian market.
It appears that Royal Enfield is struggling to save its Sultanate in the cruiser motorcycle market. It seems, it is almost the time for them to go.
We must appreciate Royal Enfield though for its contribution to the Indian cruiser motorcycle arena. In fact, they are the guys who introduced us to cruiser motorcycle and its world. But, it is getting difficult for them to carry the ‘legacy’ and ‘heritage’.
STYLE AND COMFORT
It’s time to ride UM Renegade Commando. It has the most authentic appearance for a cruiser motorcycle. The matte green makes this motorcycle appear the most muscular in the crowd.
Let’s have a quick look at the appearance and size of the motorcycle. As I said: this is a born claimant to the throne.
This design offers the greatest sitting posture and comfort. The low slung style and appearance are the main character of a true cruiser motorcycle. With this appearance, one can expect the most admiring attention on the roads.
When it comes to the comfort, the ergonomic riding position and pulled back handlebars make you feel like to king of the roads within the cities and the highways alike. The wide tires and 280mm disc add to your comfort and safety.
Talking of other stylings, this motorcycle doesn’t sport silly decals and graphics, except for the brand’s logo. Simplicity at its best, indeed. The Commando is also available in shining black, and burgundy.
One of the best things about this motorcycle is that this motorcycle has got the best engine size (cc) and the power generation. This motorcycle generates more than enough power one can genuinely need. In fact, 300cc is the most reasonable size experts can suggest.
This 300cc, 4 valve, liquid cooled engine which delivers 25hp and 22 Nm of torque mated to a 6 speed transmission is the combination a motorcycle enthusiast can dream of.
UM Motorcycle is the only American motorcycle manufacturer that offers its products suitable to the pockets of Indian customers.
UM Motorcycles are not insanely priced like Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycle.
The commando comes around Rs. 1.50 lack in Indian market. The day UM Renegade motorcycle settles the matters down with dealers and distributors across the country, Royal Enfield will start facing existential threats. Because, UM Renegade is offering more meat than Royal Enfield for the money.
And of course, Bajaj Avenger will face terrible time too.
